Brenna. You are the Lily to my Robin- and I know you know that. Twitter brings back so many memories, and I can’t believe I ever stopped. We’re half way through the year, finals are upon us. But tweeting with you reminded me of something.

Soon, we’ll be spending our nights on the dock and days at the pool. Soon we’ll be sleeping over at each others house constantly. Soon, I’ll be hanging out with the Bowie swim team some days, and you with the LBJ Colorguard others, I’m sure. Soon, you’ll drive down to Brownwood with me to meet my grandparents, and I’m sure that wasn’t the last day I’ll spend in Wimberly. Before we know it, we’ll be driving around town together. We’ll probably go to the beach in Corpus, go to ACL with Ella, we’ll go on a road trip to vidcon. We’ll find each other boyfriends, we’ll move to New York.

I have faith in all of this. Sometimes, I forget for a while, and I feel so alone. Deep down though, I know I have my true best friend with me, forever and always. It gives me hope. You are what carries me through finals. You are what gets me through fights with my family. You are my bravery and courage- my Gryffindor. You are the one that can make me cry from happiness, as I am writing this post.

For that, I will always be thankful.

Oh my god I am seriously crying. This is so amazing. Sometimes I feel exactly the same way. Whenever I have a bad day I know I can talk to you and instantly feel better. You can always make me smile and laugh, and I love you so so much. I can’t wait for next summer, when we’ll spend the days watching YouTube and the nights playing Truth or Dare. Then college and New York, and I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.

The text you sent me reminded me of that one spring break- we never spent a moment apart. You, me and Ella, together the whole week. No matter how many trips I go on, no matter how many times I go skiing or to the beach, I think that will still be my favorite spring break. Something else I know for a fact: We will always be like Marshal, Lily, Ted, Robin and Barney. We will always be comically dysfunctional in the sweetest ways. Most importantly, we will be the friends sitting together on the porch when we’re 80, rocking in our rocking chairs, together until the end. I’ve never wanted to ‘live hard and die young’ like so many kids our age do- and this is one of the reasons why.
